The future of Swiss snow and an outlook on consequences

Rising temperatures and potentially increasing precipitation amounts affect the mountain snow cover in the Alps drastically. We review the current predictions on future snow in the Swiss Alps and show, where changes are expected to be severe or minor. Many consequences arise from these changes not only for ski tourism and professional skiing but ranging from hydropower and fish health to natural hazards.
